Gran Turismo Sport 7 DEMO - FEEDBACK

(1/3) > >>

nad2dare:
I played the Gran Turismo Sport 7 Demo, for the 4 days it was available to play, please note this is my opinion on the demo not the full game.

To me the demo feels like a refreshing change from the forza motorsport series, this demo has more features then the forza 7 demo, but it should do as the demo was a 46gb download, compare to forza 7 18gb.

Gt sports demo, had, time trials, drift & arcade mode, driving school, circuit experience.

Gt sport seem to have gone the way of I-racing that it is more focus on e-sports / racing ettiqic and good sportsmanship racing.  Gt sport also tries to match racing opponents with your level of play, so even if your usually at the back you might end up in a higher position then the person in front of you if you drive properly i.e not crashing into people or driving offtrack, that can add a time penalty to increase you overall time.  I remember in once race I finished the race in 6th position, but ended up getting 4th position probable due to the racers in front of me racing faster and hitting the side of the track a lot.

Gt sport will need an internet connect at all times as it's an online game and no offline modes.

Positives
+Graphics look good especially the vistas/horizon from the far view
+Livery editor
+Sound track licence music and cars engine noises
+Lots of time choice to race, from dawn to night, 6 variations
+online races tries to match opponents to your level of racing
+penalty points for driving dirty

Negatives
- online only
- no single player campaign
- gt racing cars mainly
- could buy other cars in demo even when you had the money to buy them

Overall
Overall I was left impress with Gt sport demo and would buy this a it adds some thing new to the console simulator racing scene.

I did some videos when the beta game out, so you can see the game being played by someone who is not good a racing simulators.

I played a little.of the demo but not enough to answer my.main question of does it require a steering wheel? I loved Gran Tourismo on PS3 but it did get to the point of being such a 'simulator' that I found it was impossible to play with a controller.

Thanks for your feedback Nad :)

It's a shame GT has ditched single player campaign, as I think it this was one of the game's strengths in GT4 and going back.

I thought you had given up on racing simulators/simcades and was all in for the fun of the likes of Horizon 3?

True what you said about me giving up on simulators, but if i did go back to racing simulators, it would gran tursimo and the reason why I would go back to gt is because gt with it's driving school tutorials which forza lacks.   Also it's been such a long time since I've complete a gt game the last gt game I completed was gt3 on ps2, before moving to forza 1.

Uncle Orbius:
I watched some YouTube review videos on GT Sport, and the things that looked well implemented were:

1. automatic ghosting when idiots would rather ram the car in front and ruin their race, than use the brakes.
2. the Licensing system looks second to none.
3. and the graphics look gorgeous

Other than that, it seemed quite mediocre.
