Capcom plans to offer a free piece of Resident Evil 7 DLC sometime this spring.
The DLC is called Not a Hero. It's described as a short story scenario separate from that of the main game's protagonist, Ethan.
Capcom has already revealed other DLC for the game, including the preorder bonus Survival Pack that unlocks in-game items and an additional difficulty mode right from the start.
A season pass is also on the way with additional, more meaningful content. Two volumes of something called Banned Footage (which come to PS4 first) and another story episode are on the way, though specifics remains unknown.
