Here's the latest Tomb Raider ad, and it's very good. It gives you the reason for this story

Looks great. I loved the first reboot on the XB1, still my favourite game on the platform.

played and finished. really enjoyed it, though i dont think its quite as good as the first. the new additions are ultimately pointless, the new tombs fun but small and brief, and the build up towards the ending was pretty reminiscent of the last game.

the problem with the new style games is that there has to be a protagonist to help the stories along. and that is fine, but with that in mind, it means you cant simply just have a "heres a rather large tomb, go explore" like back in the day. its a shame, cos this game is definitly at its best when you find yourself in a "tomb" and have to work out what to do with little to no guidance.

I think like have more then one way to do tombs and build from around exploring the tombs these tombs. Maybe you disturb dome ancient evil and you need to explore tombs to build ancient to destroy or contain it.

I actually found most of the Challenge Tombs to be just that - challenging. That was a nice nod to the old days and some of those puzzles.  And far better than the little offshoot rooms of TR2013.  I didn't have the same compulsion for an immediate replay like with that release, but currently preoccupied with the Endurance DLC.  But if anyone notices me on Xbox, I'm still playing the 2013 game multiplayer far more, lol.
