Cyberpunk 2077 delayed to September
« on: January 22, 2020, 11:52:05 am »

Cyberpunk 2077, the highly anticipated new role-playing game from the studio behind the Witcher series, has been delayed. The game was previously expected on April 16; now it won’t launch until Sept. 17, five months later.

“We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done,” said Marcin Iwinski and Adam Badowski, co-founder and head of studio at developer CD Projekt Red, respectively, in a statement on Twitter. “Night City is massive — full of stories, content and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.”

The original release date was announced during last year’s E3, along with the reveal of actor Keanu Reeves as the iconic Johnny Silverhand, who was a central figure in the original tabletop game. Among the key differences in the demo of the game shown to the press during the conference were changes to the combat model, which appeared to be greatly improved over the 2018 demo.

The delay applies to all versions of the game: Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

I mean If it launches bug free I applaud them nice to see them want to release a well polished game. but if it launches and its full of bugs and crashes you know like the way 99%of game launches go these days I feel like it may well be a lot of backlash coming there way

I think this is why I'll wait, and buy this next generation. Besides it will give me a chance to finish The Witcher!
